Watch this inspiring video produced by Julie Nicolini, a globe trotting crusader and founder of "Now is Good" who was amazed by what she saw at Caño Palma:
The Canadian Organization for Tropical Education and Rainforest Conservation has been successfully provided leadership in education, research, conservation, and the educated use of natural resources in the tropics since 1991. COTERC is a charitable organization that operates the Caño Palma Biological Station, a field research station located in the tropical lowlands of Costa Rica. This front line facility provides a base for biodiversity research and education, and hosts students from across Canada. The station is a premier location for rainforest studies, as well as research on nesting sea turtles, including the endangered leatherback. For the past 25 years, we have cultivated this sanctuary from a muddy landing area to a fully functional science station. It has been the site of great work and discoveries. But there is still so much more to accomplish.
