How Can You Help?

The Canadian Organization for Tropical Education and Rainforest Conservation is a small organization with a big name.
We achieve our goals through contributions from researchers, volunteers, schools, sponsors, public companies, private organizations and the general public.  Please consider how you may be able to assist us in achieving our goals through the donation of your time, knowledge, funds or by simply spreading the word.  Follow the links below to find out more about how you can support our efforts.

Volunteer and Fundraising Support

Fundraising is a highly effective way to support our educational and research initiatives and it can also be great fun. By fundraising for COTERC you will not only be raising valuable funds to support our projects but you will be helping to raise awareness of the rainforest ecosystems we are working to conserve. There are many fun and successful methods to fundraise so be creative and enjoy yourself.

Use our Supporter Manual to help with ideas and planning and please do not hesitate to get in touch if you would like to discuss ideas, need any advice or would like to find out more, we would love to hear from you!

Financial expenses for the organization are incurred in Costa Rica and Canada.  In Costa Rica funds are used to ensure we can maintain ongoing research, community development and infrastructure at the station.  In Canada, our primary costs are administrative.  We have only one paid position in Canada, our Executive Director.  This role is critical to the smooth operation of  Caño Palma Biological Station and COTERC.
